MENNA EL DIABY
An artistic visualization of a story that’s based on a set of rules written and performed by the grandmother of performance art, Marina Abramovic. Her iconic piece, titled “An Artist’s Life Manifesto”, is considered to be an artist’s moral conduct, in which she deliberately states her point of view about how an artist should behave, live and be.
A short film that tells a story of a female young artist – Laila – who moves through an emotional journey strictly following Marina’s manifesto’s verses, and how that affects all aspects of her life as she appears to be Marina’s apostle.
In regards to Laila, we see how such a convincible set of rules, that seem to be her method of soul transformation and reaching an epidemic artistic salvation, are clearly entrapping her within the boarders of a room, a voice and a canvas.
